Every time I welcome a new family into my studio, I am reminded of how quickly those early newborn moments fly by. Pondering my 13-year-old girl back at home, I strain to remember her tiny, 4lb newborn self. The tiny fingers, peaceful breaths, and sleepy snuggles are fleeting, and I believe they’re worth preserving with all the tenderness they inspire. That’s why I created my Simply Baby sessions—to turn these memories into cherished keepsakes.

I created Simply Baby sessions to offer an affordable way for families to experience portraiture that’s thoughtful and beautifully lit. I believe everyone deserves to have meaningful, artful images of their newborn without financial stress. These sessions are designed for families who appreciate portraits created with care, genuine emotion, and soft, natural light—capturing your baby’s beauty in its purest form.
A Thoughtful, Focused Approach
My Simply Baby sessions are designed to be streamlined and intentional. At about two hours long, they’re shorter than traditional newborn photography sessions, but I find this focused window allows just the right amount of time to capture the most meaningful details and genuine, candid moments. Of course, babies have their own timing—extra breaks for nursing, soothing, or diaper changes are always welcomed, and I’m happy to extend the session if needed, so no one ever feels rushed.
Rather than working through a series of posed setups, I focus on authentic interactions. This approach lets me celebrate the subtle details—the delicate curve of a newborn ear, tiny fingers grasping yours, or the serene expression while your baby dozes.

Simply Baby sessions are all about the tiny details and real expressions that parents cherish most. I love capturing close-ups of toes, wisps of soft hair, or that perfect pouty mouth. Just as important are the candid moments: a baby’s gentle stretch, a sweet yawn, or the cozy comfort of being held. These glimpses preserve not just how your baby looked, but who they were in those early weeks.

My philosophy is simple: follow the baby’s lead. Newborns thrive on comfort and calm, so I never rush or push for certain poses. The two-hour session is flexible so we can pause for whatever your little one needs. I find that the most authentic and heartwarming images come from letting babies be themselves—and letting you, as parents, relax and soak in the experience.

I keep things simple and classic, choosing soft, neutral backgrounds and a muted color or two to put all the focus on your baby.
